About This Course
This qualification provides a trade outcome in wall and floor tiling for residential and commercial construction work. The qualification has a core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as the specialist field of work, wall and floor tiling. Tilers work with materials like ceramic, glass, slate, marble, and clay. They cut these materials and lay tiles on walls and floors, both interior and exterior. They may also add decorative touches to their basic work.

Course Duration
This course is delivered over a period of 96 weeks. The course duration breakdown is given below:
- 80 weeks of scheduled study/tuition (8 terms of 10 weeks each)
- 16 weeks of scheduled breaks/holidays (8 breaks of 2 weeks)
Notes
- A minimum of 20 contact hours per week of study/tuition have been scheduled by the Australian College of Management and Innovation – to ensure students meet their student study Visa conditions.
- The course duration may vary for students who have been granted credits or RPL toward this course (e.g., students having completed any units in a previous course/qualification).
Course Delivery Methods
This course is delivered face-to-face and is workshop-based. All the units are delivered and assessed using a combination of the following instructor-led methods: face-to-face in a classroom, workshops, in a simulated business environment, and accessing learning and assessment resources via an approved E-Learning platform.

Note: Students must bring their own PPE for all site visits and lab activities. Required items include steel-capped safety boots, high-visibility clothing, safety goggles, and any other relevant gear as advised. PPE must be in good condition and meet safety standards. Without appropriate PPE, students may be excluded from practical tasks.

Entry Requirements
To ensure an appropriate learning opportunity, candidates need to demonstrate a capacity to undertake study at a Cert III level, this can be demonstrated via the following:
- English Language Requirement (International Students): IELTS 5.5 Or equivalent PTE Academic Test Score or other equivalent English language test scores (e.g., TOEFL, ISLPR, CSWE, General English, EAP, etc).
- Academic Level: Year 12 or equivalent high school certificate.
- Minimum Age: 18 years or over at the time of commencement.
Note: Students who do not meet the minimum English requirement for this course will need to package this course with an appropriate English Course before they can proceed into this course/qualification.
Note: Students are expected to be physically fit in order to take this course, as it involves physical activities such as lifting materials.
Assessment
Each unit will be assessed using a combination of assessment resources and tools which may include;
Compiling portfolios, generating reports, Scenarios, role-plays, demonstrations/observations within Simulated Business/workplace environment, case studies, questions, and answers.
Required Resources
Students will have access to all the necessary resources such as lecture rooms, student amenities, free wi-fi connection, library access, and course learning materials to enhance their learning experience and complete their assignments.
Student Support and Pathways
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Support
For all students, LLN is key underpinning skill that will support each individual’s vocational learning, the development of their employability skills and their workplace communication skills whatever level of course or training they are doing. Accordingly, Australian College of Management and Innovation has a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) policy to guide the student support process with LLN.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) / Credit Transfer (CT)
Australian College of Management and Innovation provides Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) opportunities to all students. Learners may apply for RPL/CT prior to or immediately after formal enrolment, but before the facilitated delivery of units, to ensure they do not miss any class or workshop opportunities offered should they be unsuccessful in the RPL process.
Academic Pathways
Students who have successfully completed the CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling may continue their education into a range of building and construction qualifications.
Australian College of Management and Innovation shall provide the students with the required information regarding Academic Pathways.
Note: As each unit is delivered as a standalone-students who do not successfully achieve all of the required 20 units for this qualification/course will not be awarded this qualification. However, students who successfully complete some units within this qualification/course can be issued with a Statement of Attainment for those individual units of competency for which they have been assessed as a component.
Student Orientation Sessions information
A culturally sensitive and age-appropriate orientation session is provided to all new students enrolling with ACMi, these are conducted in support of assisting students (and their families) to adjust to living in Australia, commencing their study and achieving the academic progress as outlined in their Training Plans.
